To help people understand what they will read here I want to lay out the what and the why of this blog.
I work in the power industry and see every day interesting ideas and read interesting material. Some of it I agree with, some of it I don't understand and some of it I disagree with. Without naming names or taking direct shots at the authors of things I don't agree with, I am going to write counter-point articles here. Some of them I might eventually convert to IEEE papers or magazine articles, but most are just a way to provide a different look at material that is in the press or somewhere on the Internet.
In most cases the articles will take on several related stories at one time, and again I am not going point to the inspiration of my article, I am just going to write. I have a number of items that I want to post, based on my readings over the last 12 months. Some if it will seem out of date to many of you (if anyone ever looks at this).
Why do this? "Because" is the easy answer. The more complex answer has to do with publication deadlines, editorial control and personal freedom.
This blog is my personal opinion, it does not reflect the views of anyone that I know or anyone I work with. In some postings I may (if there are followers) post a few devils advocate positions to see if clarity can be found on some topics.
So how long will I do this for? Maybe just this one introductory post. Maybe for a month or two and maybe if it is stimulating enough for the long haul. I don't know and I will not make promises.
Thank you for reading this preamble.
